This pendant was made from a US Lewis and Clark nickel. These coins were minted
only in 2004 and were part of the Westward Journey Nickel series issued by the US
Mint from 2004 until 2006. The coin had the keelboat used by Lewis and Clark on
their famous expedition to the Pacific Northwest in 1803 on the reverse side and
the familiar image of Thomas Jefferson on the front.
