This handmade cut coin pendant was made from a 1937 US Indian Head nickel, often
called a Buffalo nickel. These coins had the buffalo on the reverse side and the Indian
on the obverse. They were minted from 1913 to 1938.  One controversy about the coin
was who was the model.  This despite the fact that the designer, the sculptor James Earle
Fraser, stated that he used a composite of three different Indian chiefs.
