This handmade cut coin pendant was made from a US penny. I use pennies made
before 1981 for Smokin Abe novelty cut coins because they were made from copper
as opposed to the ones minted after 1981 which are predominantly zinc. I have found
that once you cut one of this zinc pennies that they tarnish very quickly.
It’s not exactly clear what Abe is smoking in his cheroot, but like Abe I grew up on the
prairies of Illinois, and I know that all sorts of interesting things grew wild there. This
must have been even more true back in Abe’s day for a couple of reasons. Most of the prairie had not
yet been turned into corn and soybean fields, and deputy sheriffs were not going around pulling
things out of the ground.
The Smokin Abe cut coin is, like all my cut coins, covered by my no-questions-asked
seven-day money-back guarantee. See seven-day-guarantee for full details.
