The Virginia state quarter was minted in the year 2000. Like all state quarters it is
a clad coin with a layer of copper sandwiched between two layers of copper-nickel
alloy. On the reverse side it has images of the Susan Constant, Godspeed, and Discovery,
the three ships that brought the first English settlers to Jamestown.
